| 授業の概要 |
Language is more than a set of rules learned in school. It comes to life through stimulating curiosity in students about the people in countries where English is spoken - in this case, using the USA as one such country. |

To help students develop furthur interest in English, so that they will continue its study throughout their university years, both in and out of class. |
| 授業計画 |
Each class will begin with oral presentations of short journal work which is prepared as weekly homework. This is to be followed by text material of the day. |

Text: "Basically America, Basically Japan" ( Nan'undo)The text is useful to our purpose of considering cultural differences and way of life in America and Japan. |
