授業の概要 |
This class will take an innovative approach to developing academic English skills. The overall aim will be to develop students’ proficiency in using academic English by doing extensive reading of a popular non-fiction book. In class, there will be a focus on listening skills, as well as speaking questions following the format of the Internet-Based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT). In this course, reading, listening, and speaking activities will be balanced in an effort to develop students’ overall proficiency at using academic English. |

自学自習についての情報 |
Students should be prepared to study for about 2 hours before every class. Every week there will be about 30 pages of reading assigned, and vocabulary words to study. There will be a quiz at the beginning of most classes. The contents of the quiz test knowledge of the homework assigned: vocabulary, and comprehension questions regarding the reading assignment. |
